The Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (www.sakk.ch) employs 70 coworkers at the SAKK Competence Center in Bern. We are a non-profit organization, conducting clinical trials in oncology since 1965.

Medical Science Liaison

You are a professional who acts as a bridge between the medical research community and the healthcare industry. You link our community of doctors, researchers and patients to the pharmaceutical industry. You also collaborate with clinical investigators and sponsors to facilitate and support clinical trials and research projects. You are a scientist with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Your tasks:

  • Build and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical companies operating in Switzerland.
  • Provide scientific and medical information on the SAKK’s portfolio and process to external partners.
  • Organize and/or facilitate meetings between external partners and the different research groups of SAKK.
  • Represent SAKK Coordination Center as a contact person during meetings with pharmaceutical companies and other external partners.
  • Support the clinical project developers in acquiring financial support to run meaningful academic trials.
  • Work in close collaboration with our chief scientific officer (CSO) and our medical advisor to establish strong relationships between SAKK and other partners in Switzerland and beyond.
  • Organize the scientific content and the planning of our delegation to major medical conferences (e.g., ASCO and ESMO).

Who you are:

  • You have a master’s degree in medicine, pharmacy, biology, or a related field.
  • You have experience in clinical research (2 years), preferably in industry.
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • You have a customer-oriented mindset, combined with good networking skills.
  • You are a proactive, team oriented and resilient leader with assertiveness, self-motivation and focus on solutions.
  • You are fluent in English and German (alternatively French), both written and spoken (third language is an additional asset).
  • You are willing to travel within Switzerland and occasionally abroad (scientific conference, in USA for example).
