THE OPPORTUNITY
This role involves providing comprehensive Legal support to the EUCAN Legal organization with a focus on Legal Operations and commercial contracting. Key responsibilities for Legal Operations support includes communications, reporting, project management, process improvement as well as rollout of legal policies and training, assisting with strategic and cross-regional projects, and collaborating with regional functions on various legal and strategic initiatives. Additionally, the role supports commercial contracting by improving and maintaining contracting processes, ensuring effective legal review processes, supporting the Indirect Procurement function, and assisting with Contract Management Systems and related training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide Legal Operations support to the entire EUCAN Legal organization, including but not limited to communications, internal and external reporting, project management, process improvement, and alignment with other Legal Operations colleagues across Takeda’s Global General Counsel (GGC) organisation.
· Support the rollout of training on new legislation, internal policies, and processes within Legal and related areas.
· Support the Takeda Indirect Procurement function, including commercial contracts, template maintenance, and training on these templates.
· Ensure effective contracting and legal review processes and policies are in place and aligned across GGC, supporting legal and business teams with the use of Contract Management Systems and related training.
· Support the Lead Counsel, Strategic Initiatives, and Operations on legal support for regional functions (Ethics & Compliance, Market Access, Internal Audit), Public Affairs, Value-Based Partnerships (VBPs), and strategic (cross-regional) projects as needed.
YOUR PROFILE
•Qualified/admitted lawyer in at least one European jurisdiction;
•Minimum 3 years of experience as in-house counsel or within private practice with a solid understanding of European (common and civil law) systems;
•Solid experience in a wide variety of commercial and indirect procurement contract drafting and negotiation;
•Able to assess legal risk and use a pragmatic approach;
•Strong presentation and communication skills;
•Good working knowledge of MS Office;
•Ability to work to tight deadlines and knows how to set priorities;
• Solution-driven, pragmatic, self-starter, able to work independently in a dynamic, international environment
•Team player and able to build strong working relationships;
•Fluent English, any further European language is an asset;
•Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is preferred.
