Junior Social Media Specialist and Community Manager

We are currently seeking a creative and motivated Junior Social Media Specialist and Community Manager to join our team. This role is vital in enhancing our institution's visibility and recruiting prospective students through strategic social media engagement and community management. The position also plays a key role in engaging with current students through internal communication channels and with alumni via dedicated channels.

Job Overview

The Junior Social Media Specialist and Community Manager will play a crucial role in managing our online presence across various social media platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with the marketing and admissions teams to create engaging content that resonates with prospective students and the broader educational community. The primary goals will be to enhance brand visibility, drive student recruitment, and foster an active and supportive online community amongst prospective and current students, and alumni.

Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media Management
  • Manage and maintain the institution's social media profiles on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and others.
  • Develop, curate, and schedule engaging content that aligns with the institution's brand voice and appeals to prospective students and their families.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and opportunities for engagement.
2. Content Creation
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create visually appealing graphics, videos, and other multimedia content for organic and paid campaigns.
  • Develop engaging content (copy, video, polls, photos,…) for social media posts, advertisements, and campaigns that effectively communicate the institution's values and offerings.
  • Assist in the production of blog posts, newsletters, and other content that supports recruitment efforts.
3. Community Engagement
  • Actively engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster a sense of community among prospective and current students, as well as alumni.
  • Monitor online communities, forums, and groups related to education and student life to identify opportunities for engagement and outreach.
  • Organise and participate in online events, webinars, and live sessions to connect with potential students.
4. Analytics and Reporting
  • Track and analyse social media performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and content.
  • Provide regular reports on social media activity, audience engagement, and recruitment impact to the marketing and sales teams.
  • Make data-driven recommendations for improving social media strategies and achieving recruitment goals.
5. Collaboration and Innovation
  • Work closely with the sales teams to understand student recruitment goals and develop social media strategies that align with these objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices in the education sector.
  • Bring fresh ideas to the table and suggest new ways to engage with prospective students and enhance the institution's online presence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
    -Excellent English skills (at least C1), German is a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing social media accounts, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and persuasive content.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
  • Basic graphic design and video editing skills (experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar is a plus).
  • A passion for education and a genuine interest in helping students find the right educational path.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
