Internship Sub-surface CO2 storage (80-100%)

This is what YOUR future team does:

In the Business Development team, we develop products and solutions which help neustark to remove more CO2, working closely with the R&D team as well as external research and industry partners.

One of these streams is exploring – as an add-on to our current focus of local CO2 storage in demolition concrete – sub-surface storage in offshore hubs, e.g. in the North Sea. The aim of this position is to investigate the interplay of these two storage streams, especially for land-locked CO2 point-source emitters e.g. in Switzerland and many neighboring countries.

YOUR mission at neustark:

  • You will gather, analyze and summarize data and information about the sub-surface storage of CO2 worldwide, thus creating an in-depth view of the technical and commercial viability of this potential CO2 storage option.
  • Working in a focused, interdisciplinary team, you will make a critical assessment of the state of the art and of its gaps, in terms of a) technical feasibility (what are the geological and technical features of the geological storage of CO2?), b) of regulatory viability (how could and will the many aspects involved be regulated?), and c) of economic attractiveness (how do private entities make a business out of it?).
  • You will prepare and present reports of your findings, namely an executive summary, a technical summary, a more detailed report, and a collection of the available documentation.

This is what we offer YOU:

  • We’re building our future! And you can join us on our journey of shaping the rapidly evolving market of carbon removal – for the good of all generations on our planet.
  • Be an integral part of an enthusiastic and driven team. We are agile and resourceful in how we work, with an open feedback culture and flat hierarchies.
  • As a scale-up with strong growth and a solid financial foundation, we offer attractive remuneration and amenities including possible company participation.
  • What else can we say… Working at neustark is high-pace, high-excitement, high-impact, high-fun! Want to put this theory to test? Apply today!

This is YOU:

  • You have a degree (BS or MS) in business, earth sciences, or engineering, and you want to make use of your knowledge to make an impact on climate change.
  • You want to gain experience in a dynamic and impactful climate tech start-up and contribute to its growth.
  • You are motivated to work in a creative, independent, and proactive way, within an interdisciplinary team, and with limited supervision.
  • You are able to organize your work, fulfill deadlines, and write clear and synthetic reports (mostly in English).
