Jobdescription

We are seeking, on behalf of a major client company operating in the Constructions and Civil Engineering sector, a qualified and motivated HSE Manager.

The role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, contributing to the creation of a safe and sustainable work environment.

Locations: Geneva (80%) Lugano (20%)

Responsibilities:

- Organization and management of construction site security systems

- Preparation of technical documentation required by safety and environmental protection obligations

- Implementation of company HSE objectives and initiatives, promotion of best practices, and a proactive approach to developing HSE culture

- Management of safety issues in close collaboration with the respective functions of the HSE department and the parent company

- Training new employees, including subcontractors, on HSE requirements for their area of competence

- Support in the event of incidents and near-misses (recording facts, investigations, determining measures, cause analysis, administration)

- Organization and conduct of safety walks, meetings with subcontractors, and safety moments with involved parties

- Participation in inspections and on-site checks regarding safety standards

- Coordination of on-site safety managers and support them in implementing the highest safety standards according to contractual and legal requirements

- Support for audits and coordination of action plans

- Support for the verification and drafting of method statements

- Verification that all subcontractors submit safety documents required by Swiss legislation and in line with industry best practices, as well as the training certificate before entering the site

- Collaboration in drafting and implementing general workplace risk assessments

- Point of reference for issues related to personal protective equipment and technical safety equipment for all interested parties, with the support of supervisors and managers

- Organization, support, and guidance for emergency and fire evacuation
- Coordination with client representatives and external consultants
- Preparation and updating of site-specific SHE procedures and documents
- Ensuring that lessons learned from incident investigations are communicated to all employees and contractors on-site
- Tracking and finalizing HSE action points, including actions resulting from internal and external audit findings

Functie-eisen

1. Proven experience in the construction industry in Swiss companies

2. Excellent knowledge of SIA Regulations

3. Proven leadership competence

4. Excellent Knowledge of Italian, English and French

5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

6. Strong presentation skills for developing and delivering training courses aimed at improving knowledge, skills, and behaviors at multiple levels of the organization

7. Previous experience in safety in some of the following areas:

-development of safety programs
-fire prevention
-hazardous materials
-qualitative and quantitative risk analysis
-process safety management
-process risk analysis
-incident investigations
-development and implementation of safe operational procedures and processes

8. Ability to work to deadlines with a proven track record of delivering HSE scope in a timely and professional manner

9. willing to frequently travel to Geneva
