About the role
We are looking for a Global Transportation Center of Expertise (CoE) Manager to ensure that the Barry Callebaut Transport function is managed in a safe, professional, cost efficient and sustainable way including achieving the ambitious global growth goals of Next Level initiative. This function aims to secure standardization and optimization over the end-to-end processes within the Transport Function across functional, geographical and regional boundaries, while resulting in the creation of more efficient & effective processes. This function is responsible for developing and executing long-term transportation strategies aligned with business objectives, implementing innovative solutions, and optimizing processes to enhance cost-effectiveness and service excellence. It ensures compliance with global regulations and safety standards, mitigates risks, and fosters continuous improvement. It also manages change initiatives, oversees implementation of logistics tools, monitors performance metrics, and supports budget optimization efforts.
Key Responsibilities include
- Developing and executing long-term strategies for transportation management aligned with overall business objectives.
- Introducing and executing innovative transportation strategies.
- Improving cost-effectiveness and service excellence by aligning key performance indicators (KPIs) and embracing industry best practices.
- Enhancing logistics capabilities within the BC organization.
- Leading efforts to optimize processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to boost service levels, cut costs, and streamline operations while ensuring agility.
- Regularly liaising with key stakeholders across markets to ensure compliance with global processes, policies and safety regulations.
- Standardizing and continuously evaluating global transport requirements, including logistics service providers, operational processes, and data connectivity, to support business expansion.
- Steering effective change management across various projects and programs.
- Implementing top-tier logistics tools and solutions like Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Control Towers.
- Monitoring transportation performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with established standards and safety protocols.
- Identifying and mitigating risks related to transportation operations, such as supply chain disruptions, security threats, and regulatory changes including focus on global transport safety.
- Providing training and development opportunities for transportation staff to enhance skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
- Supporting global transportation budgets, tracking expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
About you
- Minimum 5 years of experience in process design, optimization, efficiency programs and project management
- Strong leadership skills
- Self-confident and an independent thinker
