INNOVATE EVERYDAY:

Tandem Diabetes Care Switzerland is developing Sigi™, a next-generation insulin “patch pump” that will offer additional treatment options for people with diabetes. This pump is based on a patented microfluidics technology developed in-house over the past 6 years. You can find out more about Sigi here.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Sr. Firmware Engineer will be accountable for the coding of software parts of the Sigi™ system. This position works within the software development team to design the best software for our medical devices. This includes implementing, testing and discussing the best design with the other engineers, pushing for excellence in themselves and the team.

Working from Tandem Diabetes Care Switzerland’s office onsite in Switzerland, you’ll….

  • Create, maintain, and review software Architecture, Design specifications, interface descriptions, and other software documentation.
  • Be responsible for coding subparts of insulin pump software.
  • Contribute to organization and facilitation of scrum ceremonies including standup, sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospective, demos
  • Test and improve the software system in order to improve performance and reliability.
  • Be responsible for timely management of software subprojects.
  • Partner closely with other team members to successfully bring prototypes to clinical study.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

  • Demonstrated experience in software coding (personal projects welcome)
  • Experience with unit testing and Git.
  • Experience with multiple Bluetooth LE L2CAP CoC platforms is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced start-up environment in a small team setting.

YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
  • 8 plus years’ experience in embedded software development.
  • 5 plus years’ experience in working in an IEC 62304 or regulated environment.
  • Advanced knowledge in Embedded systems, RTOS, Linux environment.
  • Advanced Knowledge in CI/CD and automation.
  • Fluent in English and French (preferred).
  • Passionate in software development, autonomous and proactive.
  • Passionate about enhancing performance and reliability of software systems.
  • Committed to finding the best technical solutions.
