We are hiring for a position at our site in Zürich, Switzerland.
We are supported by the Wyss Zurich Translational Center (Wyss Zürich), a unique accelerator program, which is embedded into ETH Zürich and University of Zürich and addresses the booming fields of regenerative medicine, robotics, and medical devices/bionic technologies.
As a field robotics operator at Tethys Robotics, you work closely with R&D and our external partners. As our main operator, you will assemble, prepare, test, maintain and improve our system. Doing so, you will master our robots, understand the technology that makes us unique and present this to our partners and customers worldwide.
In your role you are responsible for the following tasks:
- Field testing the newest hardware and software features and developing test methods to support reaching product readiness and for continuous improvement
- Performing demos of our robot with partners and customers in waters in Switzerland and abroad
- Training our customers on our drone system
- Performing external service jobs with the drone, by piloting, collecting data and creating reports
- Assembling and maintaining the robots, sensors and operation equipment
- Creating manuals and guides for the robot
- Education: Basic technical or polytechnical training. Technical background such as an apprenticeship (e.g. EFZ) as Technician, Mechanic, Technical Operator, Geomaticist or similar.
- Travelling: Willingness to travel globally on short notice, 1-3 days, ~1x per month. Open to on-call assignments outside normal working hours
- Practical Experience:
- Hardware maintenance or assembly
- Field testing
- Communication with partners and customers
- Teamwork: A team-player that flourishes in a fast-pace ever-changing startup environment. Collaborative with technical and business staff. Enjoys direct customer contact
- Personality: Charismatic and hands-on technician
- Traits: Waterproof and happy to be at sea for multiple days, even in bad weather
- Demeanor: Attentive and patient interaction with customers and retaining the joy of teaching under pressure or in stressful conditions
- Independence: Ability to work independently and deliver exact and high-quality results
- Pragmatism: A pragmatic and solution-oriented approach to work
- Languages: Very good knowledge in German and English (oral and written)
- Technical: Open to learn some programming skills and Unix
- Driving: Category B driving license
Applicants with the following qualifications and experience receive bonus points:
- Proficiency in an additional language to German and English (e.g. French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese)
- Experience working offshore or as a diver
- Additional training as diver, sailor, boater or any other water discipline
- Experience in piloting of arial drones or ROVs
- Sales and customer relations experience
- Sensor and system data analysis
- Programming skills
