R&D engineer - Green Power Generation
Project description:

We are looking for a pragmatic and independent R&D Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of fuel cell systems based on Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology. This position requires a strong engineering background with experience in materials science, manufacturing and electrochemistry. You will be involved in significant lab-based manufacturing work, along with detailed reporting and analysis.

Key responsibilities:
  • Testing and Characterization: Perform comprehensive performance testing of SOFC systems, including thermal, electrical, and mechanical evaluations. Propose solutions to improve mechanical and chemical reliability.
  • SOFC Design and Development: Design, optimize, and simulate SOFC components and systems using CAD software. Develop prototypes and perform performance evaluations.
  • Materials and Coatings: Develop and apply coatings to SOFC components to improve conductivity, durability, and environmental resistance.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Coordinate manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, waterjet cutting, sintering, welding and coating applications.
  • Electronics Integration: Work with electronics engineers to design and integrate electronic systems for SOFC control and monitoring.
Your qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, microengineering, material science or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and modelling.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, waterjet cutting, sintering and coating applications.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Experience with electronic design and integration is a plus.
  • Experience with electrochemical characterization techniques (e.g. impedance spectroscopy) is a plus.
