Join Roche as an Employee Communications Intern at our Basel headquarters and become an essential part of our Employee Communications team. This role, situated within the Internal Engagement Center of Excellence, offers a unique opportunity to engage in both strategic and operational communications that connect our global workforce to Roche’s mission, vision, and values.

The opportunity
An internship in the Employee Communications team offers you the opportunity to apply your skills and obtain insights into many parts of the company.
During your internship:
You will be part of a global internal communications team, with team members based in Basel and San Francisco.
Your role will focus on internal communications with a strong emphasis on digital channels. This includes managing publications on our company intranet, designing and laying out emails, and overseeing our digital signage system.
You will work with us on a variety of integrated communications campaigns across Corporate, Diagnostics, and Pharmaceuticals, contributing to challenging projects and leading specific project components independently.
You will gather, analyse and review data to optimise use of our channels and the impact of our communications activities.
You will craft compelling stories and enhance storytelling across diverse formats such as written articles, email messages, videos, podcasts, and infographics to engage employees and strengthen internal communications.
You will ensure our editorial calendar is up to date, efficiently manage content through our editorial planning tool Sprinklr, and help coordinate with global and divisional teams to align messaging and streamline communications efforts across the organisation.
You will manage our global mailbox, shared drives, and distribution lists.
You will design and develop presentations, ready-to-use training tools, and communication materials for internal communications.
You will work under the guidance and mentorship of the Senior Manager, Employee Communications.
Your profile
You are a Bachelor’s or Masters student in Marketing, Media and/or Communications, or a related field, or you just graduated.
Previous work and/or internship experience is preferred.
A passion for science and good understanding of healthcare, pharma or biotech industries including an understanding of the R&D processes is preferred.
Excellent writing skills and creative thinking to be able to translate complex topics into simple, engaging materials for multiple internal audiences.
Detail-oriented, well organised and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
Self-motivated, able to thrive in a non-hierarchical, self-organising environment, where teams form around projects and initiatives.
Strong team player, highly collaborative with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
Ability to deal with different activities at the same time, a flexible attitude to work and strong prioritisation skills.
Data and insight driven. Familiarity with intelligence tools such as Google Analytics is a plus.
Experience with design and web is preferred.
Experience in video and graphic work is an advantage.
Excellent English language skills (spoken and written), German language skills are an advantage.
Due to regulations non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents.
