Desk Producer, Video (Level 1 Journalist - Temp)

We’re looking for an overnight Desk Producer, Video (Level 1 Journalist – Temp) to join our Reuters Editorial team where we are expanding our coverage.
About the Role
As our Desk Producer, Video(Level 1 Journalist – Temp), you will:
- Oversee overnight newsgathering and production in North America
- Produce, edit, write and deliver agency video stories from both office and field
- Respond quickly to major breaking news events, in a responsible manner
- Have a sharp eye for visual news elements and video storytelling
- Be able to work long hours, some weekend shifts, often under extreme pressure
- Have thorough understanding of television editorial technology and social media
- Have excellent communication skills
- Shift work required- The role will cover overnight shifts and weekend work
About You
You're a fit for the Desk Producer, Video (Level 1 Journalist – Temp), if you likely have:
- The ability to work overnight hours and make decisions in an unsupervised environment
- Significant experience as a professional Video producer
- A track record of working with multimedia and video packaging tea
- Experience in broadcast or agency television newsgathering and production
- Strong skills in driving accuracy and speed while upholding Thomson Reuters editorial principles and policies
- Understanding needs of broadcast and digital clients, regionally and internationally
- Willingness to travel to breaking news stories, often at short notice
- Excellent English writing skills
