Demi Chef
Novotel Sydney Darling Square is seeking an experienced Demi Breakfast Chef to join our team on a full time basis. Novotel Sydney Darling Square which is conveniently located amongst Sydney’s CBD, Darling Harbour, Darling Square and ICC precincts is the perfect location for guests whether they’re travelling for business, leisure, or both. Our 230 contemporary accommodation rooms overlook the Darling Square precinct on one side and The Chinese Garden of Friendship on the other.
Reporting to our Executive Chef you will be responsible for food preparation for our breakfast buffet, and at times assist with Pumphouse Sydney, in room dining, and function service. You will be required to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, whilst ensuring a high-quality product. In this role you will be responsible for strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. You will be responsible for organising an assigned section and will need to ensure it runs efficiently and productively. You will be required to monitor stock daily, and advise the Sous Chef of product requirements in advance.
Due to the high-volume nature of the role you will be adept at working under pressure in a high-volume environment. You will work well in a team environment as well as autonomously. You will have commercial cookery qualification, and will ideally have experience as a Chef in a Hotel environment.
