Do you love to drive disruptive change and add major value to a business? Then we have an excellent opportunity for you to contribute to our Additive Manufacturing (AM) team as a Category Manager AM in Baden.

We are looking for an expert in supply chain management for AM technologies to build a new AM category from scratch. In this position, you’ll have the chance to significantly contribute to our AM and AM supply chain development. In this newly built role based in our global headquarters in Baden, Switzerland, you’ll report to the Head of Manufacturing Technology & Investments and will establish and secure a resilient supply chain for AM parts. This includes analyzing part portfolios, evaluating business cases and supplier alternatives, and leading the supplier qualification and development. With your high level of motivation, manufacturing and supply chain expertise, experience in the machine industry and your ability to work cross-functionally, you will play a key role in fostering AM as a key technology to add significant value to our business and further increase our competitiveness.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of and subsequently own the AM supply chain, crafting a strategic category plan for static and rotating turbocharger components
  • Collaborate closely with teams in direct material sourcing, manufacturing technologies and product responsible teams for cost-effective sourcing of AM turbocharger components
  • Drive AM supplier onboarding and development processes as well as supplier risk management
  • Lead the creation and implementation of AM sourcing and production quality standards together with technology and other internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate continiously the external supply and in-house production of the AM part portfolio in terms of total cost, lead time and other criteria
  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and selection of appropriate suppliers in accordance with company policies
  • Spearhead the AM supplier development including continuous improvement of delivery quality and further development of supplier performance
  • Manage end-to-end order processing, handling, and monitoring of sourced AM parts
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to drive the successful implementation of AM sourcing strategies
  • Actively support corporate AM industrialization efforts, driving change management in collaboration with the AM team to support business growth
  • Negotiate agreements with AM suppliers, and periodically renew price lists, terms and conditions

Your background:

  • Master’s degree in relevant business or engineering discipline (e.g., Production/Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management)
  • Over 3 years of professional experience in the field of sourcing, category management, technical procurement or production management in the machine industry
  • Solid theoretical and practical knowledge in traditional and non-traditional metal manufacturing technologies/processes
  • Know-how in metal additive manufacturing, preferred in laser-based processes
  • Interest in problem solving and interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Strategic orientation, systematic and analytical thinking coupled with a proactive working style. A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and interest in challenging traditional procedures
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with senior leaders, suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Proven project and change management skills, as well as strong cross-functional working ability
  • Proficiency in English required; German is a plus
