About the role

We’re looking for an Automation PLC Engineer who will be working on developing industrial machinery in close collaboration with our customers. You will be mostly working with PLCs and embedded systems, doing integrations, and verification on-site at customers.

Key tasks and responsibilities
  • Developing software for industrial controllers.
  • Simulations, verifications, and testing.
  • Preparing software documentation.
  • Working closely with other Cosylab engineers.
  • Traveling to clients’ locations (north-west CHE region).
  • Competently communicating with customers daily.
Required qualifications and skills
  • Familiarity with Beckhoff PLC (TwinCAT) or Siemens PLC (TIA Portal).
  • Good knowledge of communication protocols (Profinet, Modbus, CANbus,…).
  • Experience with embedded systems (STM, NXP, etc.) and programming languages (C/C++) along with associated operating systems (Yocto, RTOS, NixOS)
  • Solid knowledge of electronic schemes.
  • Developed communication skills.
  • An open mind for discussion and team collaboration.
Education
  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or other related technical disciplines.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
Bonus points if you have
  • Experience with industrial safety standards.
  • Experience in designing/commissioning industrial machinery.
  • Eager to learn new technologies (Python, WinCC OA/Linux/EPICS…).
  • Basic knowledge of IEC 61131-3 standard.
  • Knowledge of the German language.
