Automation Engineer
For our client in Basel we are looking for a Automation Engineer, who will manage and optimize automation systems and projects within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. Responsibilities include improving product quality and efficiency by analyzing and enhancing automation systems, determining necessary hardware, software, and network architecture, and supporting project teams in process automation design and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and qualify automation systems for various equipment, including batch processing tanks, solvent recovery systems, filter dryers, HPLCs, filtration systems, lyophilizers, ultra-low freezers, HVAC, solvent distribution, compressed air, purified water, and wastewater systems.
- Collaborate with production and controls teams to streamline and automate new and existing systems
- Develop and train team members on new automation systems, creating roadmaps, procedures, job aids, SOPs, and training protocols.
- Troubleshoot and monitor automation systems to ensure compliance with specifications and capacities.
- Support and coordinate engineering activities to design, develop, and execute the automation aspects of strategic projects.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency with SCADA/HMI platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk View ME/SE, WinCC, and Siemens 7.
- Knowledge of batch processing and recipe management.
- Proven ability to manage project lifecycles from design to validation.
