The position is responsible for three primary areas within the global supply chain organization:

• Global planning and inventory management of direct, indirect, and finished good materials, while balancing supply chain performance, service, and cost objectives.
• Supply Chain business processes and systems, where they will oversee the advancement and implementation of business objectives within SAP and other supporting technical solutions, in collaboration with IT and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing business processes and figuring out how to leverage system solutions to optimize performance, while adapting to changing and growing business needs. They will achieve this through their knowledge of best-in-class supply chain processes, deep supply chain planning subject matter expertise, and strong collaboration with process development, customer service, sales/marking, manufacturing, IT, regional SC, and finance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Planning and Forecasting - Develop, manage, and drive the global S&OP (PSI) planning process for all products:
• Leads the monthly Global S&OP (PSI) process and serves as the key liaison between commercial, international/ROW, finance, and operations teams. Conduct review meetings to align various stakeholders and inputs.
• Ensure relevant issues are raised in the demand and supply review meetings and any follow-up actions or decisions are communicated back to the organization and acted upon.
• Aligns with team on the discrete demand plan for current month, a 90 day forecast, and rolling 12 month outlook/scenarios; Algins with manufacturing on committed build plan and works to identify and close gaps over planning periods; Highlight risks and opportunities in plan.
• Oversees development of long-range forecast/scenario modeling
• Develop/oversee new product launch plans, including forecasts, inventory targets, and introduction schedules with support of stakeholders.
• Oversee global supply chain material flow, including/balancing inventory in support of country regulatory approvals in US, EU, APAC, and LATAM; Manage global configuration management process.
• Inventory Management – oversee development and execution of inventory strategies for indirect materials, direct materials and subcomponents.
• Work closely with purchasing teams to maintain appropriate safety stock strategy to maintain optimal level raw material inventory; Diagnose inventory gaps to target and develop plans to mitigate; ensure execution of inventory and risk management plans with raw material/contract mfg. suppliers.
• Partner with development and sustaining teams and support new product/process introduction and inventory management scale-up strategies.
• Facilitate supply chain risk management strategy, metrics, and action plan
• Lead the implementation of an MRP and forecasting system for complex multi facility manufacturing and distribution
• Assist the advancement of supply chain analytics capabilities and outputs, as Abiomed works to shift to more proactive identification of opportunities and issues and elevating performance management and reporting needs of all levels of management.
• Lead optimization and effectiveness of the global supply chain business processes and systems including their design, architecture, configuration, and integration across the business. (Example systems/modules: SAP S4 - IBP, eWM, BW, MRP, MM, MRP; Kardex, Enlabel, Process Weaver).
• Monitor and ensure the integrity and accuracy for relevant master data maintained in SAP to support the demand and inventory forecasting and purchasing processes.
• Achieve performance metrics: Service Level; Backorder; Inventory DIOH; Forecast Accuracy; Forecast Bias; Perform root cause analysis, implement action plans and strive for continuous improvement.
