Account Payable Supervisor
As the Accounts Payable Supervisor with Swatch Group, U.S., the position will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of AP functions to include vendor payments, workflow processes, document scanning functions and expense processing. This role will also be responsible for certain aspects of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
This position is an on-site position in the Blue Lagoon Area. The Candidate must have strong leadership or management experience. Previous experience with SAP is a PLUS!
Profile
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the Accounts Payable department's activities, including:
o Performs month-end general ledger account reconciliations and reviews to ensure accurate monthly recognition and reporting of accruals and associated expenses.
o Coordinate the daily activities of accounts payable personnel to ensure that transactions are processed timely and accurately and that payments are made in accordance with company policies.
o Verify vendor and invoice documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls, including proper authorization and approval, general ledger coding, amounts and currencies, purchase order matching, and payment instructions
o Monitor vendor statements and accounts payable reports to ensure that invoices are paid timely
o Complete month-end AP trade account reconciliations; prepare accruals for unprocessed invoices; ensure accuracy and timeliness of general ledger accounts related to accounts payable
o Participate in annual preliminary and final audits by outside independent auditors
o Provide customer service and problem resolution to internal and external customers; research issues and drive to timely resolution; coordinate with other departments and personnel integral to the payables process
o Manage and drive ad-hoc projects as needed or assigned
o Researches and responds to inquiries from internal team members, management and related parties.
- Maintains integrity of data in accounts and functional areas of responsibility.
- Works on process improvement projects as may be assigned.
- Perform special projects, as required, to assist the department and the company in achieving its goals and objectives.

Professional requirements
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required;
- Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable management experience in a large organization
- Must have previous experience with supervising and developing a team of three or more individuals
- Knowledge of accounts payable processes and related accounting principles; general ledger reconciliations; accruals; payment processing (check/ACH/wire); positive pay; 1099 reporting; escheatment processing, etc is required
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Strong mathematical skills required.
- Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
- Must possess strong analytical skills
Working Conditions
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, squatting
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines.
- Occasional heavy lifting.
- May require some evenings and weekends for special accounting deadlines
