Head of Operations Services - YDC AG

As we establish Ypsomed Diabetes Care AG (YDC AG) as a newly independent med-tech company, specializing in Diabetes treatment through advanced insulin pump systems, the Head of Operations Services will play an important role in shaping our operational infrastructure.

The Head of Operations Services will be instrumental in establishing a high-functioning operations structure during the company's carve-out phase. Working closely with the COO, this position requires strong technical expertise in lab operations and EHS (Environment, Health and Safety), alongside strategic and people-management skills to build and develop a newly formed team through the transition to an independent company.

Support us in the production and development of cutting-edge medical technology solutions that enable people around the world to self-manage diabetes and other chronic diseases.

• Responsible for laboratory infrastructure, equipment, and testing methods, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with organizational standards
• Direct and develop the EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) function, fostering a safe and compliant working environment for all employees and aligning with regulatory requirements
• Manage facility services, including coordinating with external service providers and supervising internal resources to support facility management needs
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary team, including recruiting new members to strengthen expertise in infusion testing, method validation, facility services, and EHS
• Support the transition and setup of new headquarters for 350 employees, ensuring seamless execution of facilities and operational services
• Foster collaboration between laboratory teams and R&D to ensure alignment on testing standards, methods, and quality of output
• Drive continuous improvement in laboratory operations and testing processes, ensuring they meet the evolving demands of the Diabetes Care business

• 5+ years experience in an operations leadership role within a med-tech, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environment, ideally with direct oversight of laboratory operations and EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) functions
• Strong technical generalist knowledge of infrastructure, equipment validation, and test methods
• Experience in facility management, including overseeing internal and external service providers
• Solid understanding of relevant regulations and best practices for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace
• Experience in building and leading diverse operational teams, including recruitment, training, and fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively align team objectives with internal stakeholders and with broader company strategy
• Adaptability to lead a team through change and transformation
• Very good skills in English and German, both written and spoken
