Physics-based and data-driven modelling of abrasive processes
Position: Internship 100% (m/f/d), 6-12 months
We are seeking a motivated and talented individual for an intern position in physics-based and data-driven modelling of abrasive processes. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of physics, engineering and data science, contributing to cutting-edge research and development while also improving experimental design methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop equipment, conduct experiments, and document results and measurements systema cally
Development of physics-based and/or data-driven models using Python and/or C++
Perform simula ons and analyze results to improve model accuracy
Re?ne modelling approaches and integrate feedback from experiments
Improve models and simula ons to enhance e?ciency and reduce computa on me
Your Profile:
Ci zenship/Work Permit: CH/EU/EFTA ci zenship or a valid Swiss work permit
Educa onal Status: BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with experimental design; basic knowledge of abrasive and cu ng processes; experience with Python/C++ for scien ?c compu ng and modelling
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analy cal skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex simula on models
Learning A tude: Willingness to learn new tools and methodologies, with a focus on applying them to industrial challenges
Language Skills: Pro?ciency in English (both wri en and spoken) is mandatory; knowledge of
German is an advantage
Work Ethic: Highly organized, self-mo vated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collabora ve team
