Instrumentation and Equipment Specialist - Permanent - Philadelphia, PA
Proclinical is working alongside a biotech company seeking an Instrumentation and Equipment Specialist for a role in Philadelphia, PA. This position focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting various systems and instruments within a gene therapy and biotechnology environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will ensure the proper functioning of equipment and systems critical to gene therapy and biotechnology operations.
Skills & Requirements:
- Experience in instrumentation and equipment maintenance in a GMP environment.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (Blue Mountain).
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems and Environmental Monitoring Systems (Siemens Desigo or Insight).
- Ability to wear appropriate clean room attire and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
The Instrumentation and Equipment Specialist's responsibilities will be:
- Perform preventative, routine, and corrective maintenance of CTU's, process utility systems, and manufacturing/laboratory instruments.
- Calibrate, adjust, and maintain measuring and indicating instruments to conform to set standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC's, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility, equipment, and systems.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to alarms from the BMS/QEMS.
- Utilize a wide range of standards, including temperature, relative humidity, differential pressure, CO2, flow, conductivity, resistivity, speed, time, pressure, and weight.
- Support Metrology in investigating OOT events using root cause analysis and technical knowledge.
- Read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
- Write incident/deviation reports, perform root cause analyses, and identify corrective actions.
- Execute work order requests and ensure compliance with building codes.
- Coordinate with external vendors for equipment service and repair.
- Provide "On-Call" support as needed.
- Adhere to core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
- Comply with Safety SOPs, SDS sheets, and laboratory procedures per company policy and OSHA regulations.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
