The R&D Operations Manager will oversee the operational management of specialized teams within the Conextivity R&D group: Mechanical Design, Mechanics, Cable Assembly, Electronics and Software.
This role entails managing project prioritization, task scheduling, KPI reporting, budget tracking, and ensuring adherence to ISO quality standards.
The successful candidate will ensure efficient operations, streamline cross-team coordination, and support innovation and development initiatives across the company.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:
Operational Leadership:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Mechanical Design, Mechanics, Cable Assembly, Electronics and Software teams.
- Ensure alignment of project priorities and objectives across all teams.
- Manage task scheduling, progress tracking, and follow-up using the Jira Atlassian Suite for timely delivery.
Project Prioritization & Workflow Orchestration:
- Prioritize and coordinate projects across multiple teams to facilitate seamless execution.
- Optimize workflow orchestration in Jira, aligning with the overall Conextivity roadmap.
KPI Reporting & Communication:
- Define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for each team.
- Regularly publish performance reports and communicate outcomes to other departments and stakeholders within the organization.
IP Governance:
- Manage intellectual property (IP) governance, safeguarding the company’s innovations and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Quality & Compliance:
- Work closely with the quality team to maintain compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and ISO 13485 (Medical certification) standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
Budget Management:
- Oversee budget tracking and ensure the monthly reconciliation of actuals vs. budget.
- Provide financial reports and ensure that R&D operations remain within budgetary limits.
Team Management:
Lead and manage a team of experts (5 direct reports) in the following transversal areas:
- Signal Integrity: Ensure adherence to standard protocols for connector, cable assembly, and electronic component designs.
- Connectors Reference Team: Supervise analysis that supports solution engineering, sales, and customer support requests.
- Laboratory Team: Ensure compliance with customer requirements such as temperature range usage, IP6x, and other technical standards.
- Prototype Lab: Drive fast-track proof-of-concept development for customers, including connectors, cable assembly, electronics, and 3D-printed casings.
THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
- +10 years proven experience in R&D operations management, preferably in mechanical design, engineering, or electronics sectors.
- Strong understanding of workflow orchestration tools, particularly Jira Atlassian Suite.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems (ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and ISO 13485).
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
