The Underwriting Center Team is responsible to ensure that we write profitable business while supporting growth. We are looking for a senior position reporting into the Chief Underwriting Officer of Swiss Life Global Employee Benefits Solutions.

Your Tasks

• Support development and review of technical basis across Europe in order to push underwriting accuracy
• Review of large and complex offers and support pricing of Life & Health contracts written through Swiss Life International/elipsLife
• Assist in defining and implementing risk management measures to avoid unreasonable underwriting risks in the portfolio, drive coordination with internal and external reinsurers
• Support business in actuarial/underwriting related issues and inquiries. Proactively assist strategic initiatives around new business and retention of existing business
• Support product development including pricing on specific initiatives
• Steer and control the portfolio globally to achieve the financial/profitability targets, play an active role on the underwriting planning process in close cooperation with the local markets and Finance
• Maintain and ensure compliance with the underwriting guidelines and processes both at local and group level, coordination with local underwriting committee and foster ongoing process improvement

Your Profile

• Master’s degree in actuarial sciences; alternatively university degree in mathematics, physics or similar with relevant experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in life insurance with solid experience in pricing L&H biometric risk in European Group business (mortality, disability, accident)
• Experience in performing experience analysis, ability to perform multivariate analysis considered an advantage
• Experience in portfolio steering considered an advantage
• Fluent in English
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex and technical information to non-technical audience
• Self-driven individual with strong analytical and conceptual skills and ability to understand different perspectives
• Solution-oriented mind with ability to work independently and take initiatives
