Histology Technician (m/w/d)
For our client, an international pharma company in Basel, we are looking for a motivated Histology Technician.
The ideal candidate holds a degree in biology or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in pathology procedures and expertise in immunostaining and quantitative image analysis techniques. The person possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, speak at least B2-level English, and is an adaptable team player with a proactive, problem-solving attitude. German language skills and experience in histological evaluation are advantageous.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Support the characterization of human model systems through robust and standardized pathology workflows
- Innovation of tissue based technologies applied to human model systems
- Working on histological evaluation; pathology procedures; immunostaining and quantitative image analysis techniques
- Coordinate among the IHB teams and with the PS Pathology chapter the tasks to be done and perform pathology related experiments (tissue processing, sectioning, staining, imaging, documentation).

Must Haves:
- University degree (BSc or MSc) in biology or a life science discipline or an apprenticeship in biology/medical lab environment with a strong understanding of cell biology, physiology, and/or tissue engineering
- Min. 2 years of work experience with manual and automated pathology procedures: tissue processing (trimming, dehydration, embedding), sectioning (microtome/cryostat), clearing methods, immunostaining (histology, IHC, IF), in situ hybridization, scanning (brightfield and fluorescence), antigen retrieval
- Experience with histology evaluation is an asset
- Ability to design, test and optimize multiplex IHC/IF stainings including on challenging samples (e.g. organoids and microfluidic chip formats)
- Manual and automated quantitative image analysis (ImageJ, Imaris and/or HALO)
- Excellent organization, documentation and interpersonal skills
- English min. B2; German is a plus
- Team player, adaptable, and flexible
- Self-organized, proactive, and problem-solving attitude
