Project: For our client, a large pharmaceutical company based in Basel, we are looking for a Technical Building Operator (m/f/d)

Background: The "Site Reliability" department of Roche Pharma is responsible for innovative, cost-effective and GMP-compliant planning and implementation of investment projects at the Basel/Kaiseraugst site. In addition, the department carries out building and operational engineering, technical quality management and is responsible for reliable troubleshooting and maintenance, including operating the necessary infrastructure. We support our management and our customers with biotechnological, chemical and galenic production plants, production, laboratory and administration buildings.

The "Operate Buildings" department is responsible for ensuring the energy and media supply, ensuring the operation of the building and providing maintenance services at the Basel and Kaiseraugst locations. The Technical Building Operations team ensures the reliable, regulatory-compliant and cost-conscious operation of the building's technical systems. We are looking for a Technical Building Operator in the "Laboratory and Administration Buildings" department for the Basel location.

The perfect candidate is a positive, honest and self-reflective personality with good communication skills. In addition, the person has completed technical vocational training in the field of building technology. In addition, the person has several years of professional experience in maintenance; apprenticeship graduates will also be considered. Assertiveness and enjoyment of independent work fit the personality profile. Finally, the candidate has fluent German skills.

Main tasks and areas of responsibility:
• Ensuring the operation of the technical building equipment
• Responsible for the smooth functioning of heating, ventilation, air conditioning & sanitary systems and building automation
• Ensuring that the systems operate in accordance with legal regulations and cost-efficiently over their entire service life
• Responsibility for inspections and maintenance
• Conducting regular inspections of the building technology and timely rectification of any faults that occur
• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the systems
• Continuous improvement of the systems in order to save energy and reduce maintenance costs
• Coordination and monitoring of external companies that work in the buildings, including the punctual documentation of all work in accordance with good documentation practice
• Participation in on-call duty
• Willingness to provide on-call duty and, if necessary, to permanently rectify faults outside of regular working hours
• Working on exciting projects that contribute to improving the functionality of the building and system
• Contributing your specialist knowledge:
• Using specialist knowledge to bring about positive changes in the systems & buildings and working with experts from other areas to integrate their knowledge
• Promoting Information exchange
• Ensure that the information exchange in the various departments runs smoothly.
• Proactive and independent work in self-organized teams

Must Haves:
• Completed technical vocational training in the field of building technology (e.g. automation technician with in-depth knowledge of building automation and the control of complex technical systems, electrician with a focus on the installation and maintenance of building technology systems and equipment, refrigeration and air conditioning technician with expertise in the installation and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems to ensure an optimal indoor climate)
• Several years of professional experience in the maintenance of technical building equipment, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical and building automation
• Fluent written and spoken German
• High IT affinity, SAP & MS office knowledge
• Good knowledge of English
• Reliability and sense of responsibility
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

Nice to haves:
• GMP experience
• Further training as a maintenance specialist or a comparable qualification that has deepened your knowledge in the maintenance and optimization of technical building systems
• Several years of professional experience in the operation and maintenance of technical building equipment
