Tax Manager Switzerland 80-100%
In this role, you will be reporting to the Regional Tax Director Switzerland / EMEA and working closely with other members of the Group Tax and Finance teams at Corporate Center and Business Unit Switzerland level. You will be accountable for the tax compliance and tax accounting work of various Zurich Swiss entities.
What you will do
- Prepare and/or review Swiss corporate income tax returns for various Zurich entities (including profit, real estate gain and capital allocation to all Swiss cantons)
- Prepare withholding tax and stamp duty tax returns
- Support income tax, withholding tax and stamp duty tax audits including answering questions from tax authorities, review of tax assessments, following latest case law and preparing assessment appeals as required
- Prepare real estate capital gain tax returns for all Swiss Zurich entities and review tax assessments including negotiations with tax authorities, following latest case law, and filing assessment appeals as required
- Advise business partners on Swiss real estate tax aspects including transaction and restructuring advise
- Accomplish tax accounting work for various Swiss entities including calculation of current and deferred taxes and partnering with the finance function to ensure tax is accurately recorded in the Group’s financial accounts
- Collaborate with Financial Accounting and Reporting teams on Pillar 2 reporting
What you bring
- 4+ years relevant tax experience preferably in the insurance/financial services industry, Big 4 environment and/or tax authorities
- Professional certification (Fachausweis) in Fiduciary or Finance and Accounting and potentially also Certified Tax Expert (or in preparation to it)
- Extensive experience in Swiss tax compliance matters, particularly in the field of real estate capital gains and corporate income tax
- Solid accounting background and ability to identify and resolve tax accounting and reporting issues, ideally experienced with Longview tax accounting / Pillar 2 reporting tool
- Team-player, reliable and conscientious personality with strong flair for numbers and IT affinity
- Experienced in using SAP, MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and MS SharePoint
- Very good English and German skills, both written and verbal
