As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Kotlin development for our Checkout Services team, you'll be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance APIs for Cart, List, and Checkout. If you are passionate about things like reliability, scalability, and security, and If you're ready to make a significant impact on the future of IKEA, this role is for you.
What you'll be doing day to day
To succeed as a Senior Software Engineer, you will ideally have experience in several of the following areas:
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Kotlin or Java.
• Experience with API design principles, RESTful architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Automation, CI/CD using Github Actions.
• Cloud serverless using GCP, Cloud Run.
Your responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
• Implement best practices for API design, documentation, versioning, and testing.
• Ensure the reliability, availability, and security of our Checkout Services.
• Contribute positive energy to the team and help where it’s needed.
About this work area
In the Checkout Services team, we work together in a Scrum fashion. All of us are part of designing, building, and supporting the solution. We are part of Group Digital, where we set the digital agenda to keep IKEA leading in an ever-evolving and fast-moving environment. We drive the development, provisioning, and operation of our digital products and services through new and existing technology. Utilizing agile delivery methods to deliver at pace. At the same time, we provide a home for individuals to both develop and extend their technical, people, and business skills needed to ensure continuous development and growth of our digital capability.
