Senior Mechanical Engineer

• Execution of equipment and packages lots (responsible in terms of cost, quality and time) under the coordination of an equipment and packages engineering manager
• Coordination and provision of Concept and Basic Engineering under consideration of internal and external interfaces and contract requirements
• Preparation of technical specifications for the procurement packages
• Responsible for supplier selection and timely purchase order
• Supplier expediting during detail engineering (incl. documentation management and inspections)
• Ensure supplier compliance with HZI specifications (electrical & mechanical) and check of supplier documentation (e.g. datasheets, electrical documentation, mechanical documentation)
• Review and approval of the Q-plans and incorporating customer requirements into QMS
• Active Collaboration with procurement, arrangement planning, civil department, electrical department and process departments
• Implementation of supplier data in our CAE tool COMOS
• Factory acceptances tests at supplier workshops and provision of installation and commissioning support
• Close cooperation and exchange of experience for updating specifications based on feedback from project and lessons learnt
• Take care of the assigned subject areas as product manager
• Training and technical support for internal employees
• Is aware of the HSE requirements relevant to their role, and implements and complies with them

Job specific qualification

• High degree of autonomy in the management/development of different (complex) systems
• Good knowledge of project work, products and systems and with different project disciplines
• Good understanding of the entire system
• Experience of cooperation with- and evaluation of suppliers
• Persuades counter-part, even in controversial discussions
• Can clarify routine ambiguities through factual discussions
• Uses experience when applying standard methods, in order to solve challenging problems
• Solution-oriented, autonomous, and proactive
• Strong team player, flexible and curious
• Takes decisions independently and in a timely manner within pre-determined limits
• Support for the team performing similar functions
• Good cost awareness
• Willingness to travel up to 20%

Competence in working methods

• You are a trained Mechanical engineer or similar with 5+ years' experience in a similar role, preferrably in plant projects, construction or commissioning experience is a plus
• Good MS Office user knowledge
• Very good English knowledge (spoken and written) and German is a plus
• Knowledge of CAE Tools (Comos, PID, AutoCAD etc.)
• Project Management knowledge
