Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain database solutions with a focus on Microsoft SQL
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of database systems through proactive monitoring and optimization.
- Implement and manage automated database deployment and configuration processes using DevOps principles.
- Work closely with software developers to address database-related issues and optimize query performance.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies for database systems.
- Collaborate on designing and implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Stay updated on database trends and emerging technologies to contribute to continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Microsoft SQL
- Strong proficiency in German and English (both written and spoken).
- Experience with database automation, version control, and CI/CD processes.
- Proficient in SQL scripting and query optimization.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and implementation.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, including source code repositories and continuous integration platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is beneficial.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) in a database environment.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Previous experience in a DevOps or database administration role in a German-speaking environment.
