To develop Numab’s innovative proprietary therapeutic pipeline we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual for a role as Research Associate within our Protein Engineering team.

In this position, you will be involved in the purification and biophysical characterization and optimization of antibody hit and lead candidates. You will contribute to the development of multispecific antibody-derived therapeutic proteins applying methods from a variety of disciplines.

Your Responsibilities:

• Expression, purification and characterization of antibodies and antibody fragments
• Generation of high-quality data in biochemical assays to support Numab’s discovery projects
• Compiling data to support and evaluate engineering of antibody fragments
• Contribution to technology development projects and continuous improvement of processes (e.g. automation)
• Planning, execution, analysis and presentation of experiments within team meetings and company presentations
• Work closely with team members to outline next steps and help to drive the projects to completion
• General organization of the laboratories, evaluation and acquisition of equipment and consumables

Ideal candidates will have:

• Completed apprenticeship as laboratory technician with several years of experience or a higher education in biology, (bio-)chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences, preferably with industry experience in recombinant protein/antibody production and characterization
• Experience with display technologies (e.g. mammalian display)
• Experience in operating automation equipment
• Initiative, problem solving skills, self-motivation and curiosity
• Professional experience in protein biochemistry and engineering as well as protein purification and analysis
• Hands on experience in high throughput methods for protein purification and chromatography
• Highly accurate and team-oriented working style paired with a high sense of quality
• Ability to work on diverse tasks independently
• Refined computer user skills (Windows, MS Office, preferentially also Geneious and/or antibody modeling software) and communication skills
