Your challenges
- Your primary responsibility will be to support the development new synthesis routes for our molecules that are safe, scalable, sustainable and cost-effective.
- Detailed planning of organic reactions, taking into consideration safe laboratory practice and careful risk assessment.
- Safely performing organic reactions in the laboratory, using a wide range of synthetic and purification skills
- Independently use appropriate analytical techniques to follow reactions (incl. TLC, IR, GC, LC)
- Characterization of the nature and purity of synthesized products (1D-NMR, MS, IR, MPt, LC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS)
- Optimization of chemical processes and development of new synthesis routes
- Protocolling, analyzing and reporting of scientific data and results
- Interacting and communicating in a diverse and international professional environment
Your skills & experiences
- Laborant/In education or a BS or MS in Organic Chemistry. Industrial experience would be advantageous
- Thorough knowledge of practical organic chemistry and organic synthesis
- Expertise in the use of standard and modern chemical laboratory equipment
- Capable to perform multistep synthesis and to optimize reaction conditions
- Excellent team working skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Excellent understanding of purification techniques
- Thorough knowledge of common spectroscopic techniques
- Basic skills with Excel, Word and Powerpoint
- Good knowledge of English
