good food, healthy environment
The ’Integrative Agroecology’ Research Group coordinates and pools the know-how of various Groups in order to calculate a range of agri-environmental indicators, and forms the heart of the new Swiss agri-environmental monitoring programme (MAUS). The group has great expertise in collecting, plausibility-checking and managing agricultural data. In addition, our Group coordinates major EU partnership programmes for the whole of Agroscope.
Are you interested in how agricultural systems in low-and-middle-income countries can be designed for greater efficiency? Are you communicative, and do you speak fluent English and German (and perhaps even French as a bonus)? Would you like to visit farms in Kenya and Uganda to interview small farmers there? Are you interested in multidisciplinary research with scientists from other disciplines, and in collaboration with non-governmental organisations? Do you find data tables, programming code and numbers appealing rather than off-putting? If so, you are the ideal person to support us in the project ’Circularity of Nutrients in Agroecosystems and Positive Effects on the Health of Humans and Animals’
About us
The ’Agroecology and Environment’ Research Division investigates the effects of agriculture on the environmental dimensions of climate, air, soil, biodiversity, nutrient cycles and water. Based on the principles of agroecology and using real-world data, we develop solutions for a sustainable agricultural sector. The interconnectedness of the disciplines is essential here for identifying synergies and trade-offs."
