Manager Logistics Network Management (m/f/d)
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Lead supply chain network analysis globally for all origins, destinations, and ship modes to identify and lead key optimization projects. The role will also drive standardization across all markets in terms of systems and process to manage Network optimization.
The role is expected to collaborate with the SCM stakeholders as well as internal and external data sources, integrate them and identify areas that will help adidas improve quality and speed in the end-to-end value chain. The role will manage a pipeline of opportunities, looking at the right prioritization and ensuring maximum output.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Management
- Develop and implement logistics network strategies that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct analysis of transportation and logistics data to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize supply chain operations.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of logistics network operations.
- Manage relationships with carriers and logistics providers to explore various options available for optimization.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams including Origin operations, Destination operations, Markets, Global Product Supply, Customs, etc. to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and speed to market to deliver the right product at the right time at the right cost.
Project Management
- Lead, steer and manage to successfully deliver the assigned global and x-functional projects, end-to-end, ideally through applying project management with a standardized methodology effectively.
- Ensure full understanding of project scope to be able to design detailed project plans.
- Manage the execution and completion of the defined project plan through effectively coordinating people and resources.
- Drive and measure engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures to ensure KPIs are met.
- Monitor the project variables (cost, effort, scope, etc.) against the project plan in order to implement corrective or preventative actions.
- Drive implementation of business strategies
- Manage the change management approach for respective project and ensure changes are smoothly and successfully implemented to achieve lasting benefits.
- Finalize all activities across the projects/programs to formally close and hand over the project, ensuring project documents are approved, completed, maintained, and stored appropriately.
Standardization
- Own and standardize processes across markets e.g. LT update methodology and ensure a consistent approach is applied and updated.
- Give consistent guidance on how / what to be incorporated into availability updates.
- Drive automation and standardization for reporting to have a single source of truth.
Dependency Management
- Think globally and cross functionally in order to identify dependencies and their impact, raise dependency issues with the project sponsor and co-create solutions.
Resource Planning
- Form and lead multi-functional project team resources (internals and externals) to deliver and support Network management activities, projects and programs.
- Manage, coach, develop and train the formed project team members, input to performance reviews, provide feedback and allocate work considering complexity and experience level.
- Set clear objectives for team members.
Financials and Controlling
- Track and own any additional costs required to secure necessary capacities.
- Drive or support the creation of business cases, ensure projects are tracked against the agreed business case and flag deviations including mitigation actions
- Establish project controlling as an independent element within the project to verify and control the allocated project costs on time in budget.
- Ensure compliance to adidas & Supply Chain Management standards, e.g. PMO, controlling standards.
- Manage project budget through tracking and reporting the monthly budget accruals and variances and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
Communication
- As conflicts and escalations arise within projects, identify solutions and propose these to project sponsor and support their resolution in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Use appropriate and effective communication methods to Senior Management and project stakeholder throughout the project life cycle, in order to successfully deliver and embed the project within the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to coach, guide and manage a project team.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures.
- Business mind-set: strong numerical and analytical skills, experience in finance, process driven.
- Strong experience to manage complex global projects on transport & logistics related initiatives.
- Good market knowledge on 3PL and transport & logistics related provider and related networks.
- Strong experience to work on several projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and facilitation skills (small and large groups) especially when interacting with different levels of business.
- Fluent English skills (verbal and written).
- Strong MS-Office skills (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year college or university degree with focus on Supply Chain Management, or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of progressive work experience in mid to large-scale organizations optimizing complex logistics network.
- Strong experience with managing complex projects related to transportation and process re-engineering.
- PMI/Project Management certified.
