IT Infrastructure and Support Manager

Main role:

  • Ensure the availability, stability, and optimal performance of all IT infrastructure components to support seamless business operations.
  • Implement robust security measures and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations to protect data and IT assets.
  • Lead the adoption of advanced technologies and best practices to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of the IT infrastructure.
  • Provide high-quality support services to promptly resolve technical issues, ensuring user satisfaction and minimal business disruption.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other departments, system users, and key stakeholders.

Key activities:

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee IT infrastructure operations, ensure security, scalability, and reliability, manage backups, disaster recovery, and service continuity.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor IT teams, foster collaboration, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Project Management: Lead IT infrastructure projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Support: Oversee technical issue resolution, implement proactive measures to prevent outages, and ensure high system availability.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and SLAs for optimal service delivery.
  • Budget Management: Manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensure cost-effective solutions, and monitor financial performance.

Technical Competencies:

Proficiency or relevant experience with:

  • Network Management: Managing LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless networks, and security protocols (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
  • Server and Systems Administration: Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, with knowledge of virtualization (VMware).
  • Cloud Computing: Working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), understanding cloud architecture, deployment models, and migration strategies.
  • Storage Solutions: Handling SAN, NAS, and cloud storage, along with data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Database Management: Basic knowledge of database administration (SQL, MySQL), including performance tuning and optimization.
  • Security Management: Implementing cybersecurity principles and best practices, using security tools (antivirus, encryption, MFA).
  • Monitoring and Performance Tools: Using IT infrastructure monitoring tools and performing performance analysis and capacity planning.
  • IT Service Management (ITSM): Understanding ITSM frameworks (ITIL) and tools, and managing incidents, problems, and changes.
  • Endpoint Management: Managing desktop and mobile devices with solutions like SCCM and Intune.
  • Collaboration Tools: Utilizing collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365) and communication/project management tools (MS Project, etc.).
  • Vendor and License Management: Managing hardware, software, and service vendor relationships, and handling software licenses.
  • Backup and Recovery Solutions: Deploying and managing backup solutions (Veeam, others), and planning/executing disaster recovery.

Soft skills :

  • Work philosophy in line with Laurastar's DNA and behavioral principles
  • Strong team leadership in diverse, multicultural environments with excellent French and English communication skills.
  • Result-oriented, innovative and agile with strong problem-solving abilities and deadline management.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex technical processes.

Experiences :

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management and project management.
  • Any IT certifications will be an asset.
