Embedded Software Engineer

Spacetek's technology has its origins in scientific space flight. We use this expertise to design, manufacture and distribute compact and robust time-of-flight mass spectrometers (TOF-MS) for industrial and space applications. Our focus is to close the gap in the current lack of process control of existing and future manufacturing technologies in the semiconductor industry.

Our products redefine the real-time analysis of chemical processes in physical processes. This massively improves process control and increases production yields. At the same time, waste and environmental impact are minimized. Our innovation is used in an international environment with business partners in Germany, Israel, Korea and Japan. Our network is growing rapidly in Asia, Europe and the USA.

The company is based in Switzerland (Gümligen, Zurich) and has a team of 30 members. Our company has offices in South Korea (Dongtan, Hwaseong) and Taiwan (Taichung).

Your tasks

• Play an active role in requirements analysis, specification, and implementation including comprehensive test plans of the software for the present and future IonTamer™ products
• Work together with the team to define a robust software architecture. Help take decisions and understand their impact.
• Collaboration with internal as well as external partners in terms of stakeholder to the software development department
• Responsibility of the technical roadmap and vision for the overall IonTamer™ software solution and system architecture
• Support the team with implementation, testing, technical problems or troubleshooting
• Identify and mitigate risks
• You will be part of an innovative team and play a crucial part in bringing our analytics solution to the next level. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and highly complex instrumentation which means that you should be able to adapt and work in a dynamic environment. Your peers are experts (most of them with a PhD in natural sciences, i.e. Physics, Material Sciences, etc.) from leading universities, together you will form a strong supporting network to bring our customer requests to life

Your profile

• You have an FH/ETH/University degree in computer science and experience in writing embedded software
• Proven experience in developing and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Profound programming knowledge in C/C++ and RUST
• Experience in operating software platforms (Linux, Microsoft), release management, and agile development methods
• Experience in designing embedded Linux systems using the yocto framework.
• Experience in writing Linux device drivers.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting languages commonly used in test automation (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
• Experience with version control system and automation (CI/CD)
• Experience in designing secure systems would be beneficial
• Good language skills in German and English (spoken and written)

• Used to working in agile teams and doing automated testing for your software as well as automated build systems and software pipelines
• Used to working in a practical environment and work with scopes and measurement equipment of all kinds
