Doctoral Student in the Health Ethics and Policy lab
We are pleased to announce the opening of doctoral positions in the Health Ethics and Policy lab at ETH.
The Health Ethics and Policy lab has expertise in bioethics, philosophy, social science, medicine, public health, data science, policy and law. We pursue high-?level scholarship, participate in international research & policy networks, and conduct public engagement activities. The lab focuses on ethical and policy challenges in rapidly evolving areas of biomedicine. We aim to identify and tackle these challenges through an interdisciplinary approach fostering both theoretical and empirical methods.
This call for doctoral position presents a unique opportunity to pursue cutting-edge research at the intersection of ethics, biomedicine and technological innovation.
At the moment of application, the candidate will indicate which of the active research lines in our group he or she would like to be considered for. Active research lines include:
- Digital technologies and AI for clinical research and medical use
- The ethical aspects of healthy longevity
- The use of bioengineering approaches for both therapeutic and basic research applications
- You have a Masters degree with a background in one or more of these areas: bioethics, law, public health, health policy, health sciences, molecular biology, medicine computer science, data science, IT or a related field
- You demonstrate interest in the topic of the selected research line
- You have some previous research experience is appreciated, ideally in at least one of the following empirical research approaches: survey methodology, qualitative methods such as interviewing or focus groups, ethnography or other empirical approaches in bioethics
- You have adequate written and verbal communication skills in English, the working language of our team
- You have the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and interdisciplinary research environment
