- Recruitment of teaching staff with appropriate experience and qualifications
- Observation of teaching staff for the purposes of assessment and development
- Overseeing induction of new academic staff
- Liaising with finance with regards to payment of academic staff
- Maintenance of records of academic staff holidays and sickness
- Maintenance of records of hour banks for contracted and permanent contract teachers.
- Weekly briefing for teachers
- Organization of cover
- Liaise with teachers on a weekly basis with regards to class progress and student changes
- Provision of opportunities for staff development through in house or external training sessions
- Ensure appropriate timetabling of students, teachers, courses and classrooms to meet the needs and expectations of students and to achieve the course objectives.
- Reporting class size averages to School Director
- Ensure attendance records are maintained and oversee sending of warning letters where necessary.
- Organize and perform testing of students on intake days and deliver the academic induction talk. This will include updating of timetables to new students
- Ensure students are tested regularly via class tests and EF progress tests.
- Monitor attendance and follow up any absences.
- Manage the syllabus and timetabling of internet access.
- Ensure students are given sufficient information and guidance about JLPT examinations.
- Respond to student feedback, questions or complaints about academic matters.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Select suitable course materials and distribute to classes.
- Check invoices for all materials and keep a stock check
- Manage academic budget for training and materials.
- Respond to all sales office queries within 24 hours.
- Keep sales offices informed of student issues, particularly bad attendance.
- Attend in-house meetings and EF meetings on a regular basis and ensure effective communication of policies through academic staff meetings.
- Sharing on call rota for school emergency phone.
