The Corporate Tour Manager supervises the shipboard shore excursions department with the goal to meet corporate revenue and guest service targets by engaging a range of relevant departments.
• Coordinates and supervises all Shore Excursions activities on board;
• Monitors the general fleet progressive revenue performance and budget trends and intervenes whether needed to ensure company targets are met;
• Keeps updated and implements new standard procedures for all on board Shore Excursions department;
• Prepares the budget and pricing in conjunction with the Shore Excursions analyst;
• Identifies competitive threats and consumer trends within the assigned geographical region and strategies for appropriate responses;
• Analyses guest service scores by region and develops tactics to ensure continued improvement;
• Performs ship visits to monitor business and team performances. Furthermore, he/she provides training to onboard teams and supports them to ensure that both the best service and maximum revenues are generated;
• Performs site inspections to support product development and identifies new possible shore excursions and/or provide feedback on the current tour programs;
• Develop and manage new Shore Excursions related business to enhance the company’s revenues and the guest's satisfaction (e.g. Shopping Program; Bike Excursions, etc).
• Fluent in English. Any other language is a very strong advantage;
• Global knowledge (historical, geographical, cultural and commercial) of the most important ports of call described in the tour program and a full understanding of the excursions conducted in those ports, especially for the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Caribbean;
• Around 10 years of experience in a similar position, as Shore Excursions Manager in the cruise industry with a focus on the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Caribbean. Cruise industry experience is a must;
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Fidelio or any other cruise reservation and ticketing systems is a strong advantage;
• Strong analytical skills and self-starter;
• Ability to work, sometimes, in a stressful environment;
• Customer focus and results-oriented;
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
