Trade Finance Specialist

China Construction Bank (the second-largest bank in the world) opened its Zurich Branch in 2016, becoming the first Chinese bank in Switzerland and the only RMB clearing bank for Switzerland. Our goal is to provide reliable, high-quality, and efficient financial services to Swiss companies with business relations in China and Chinese companies with business relations in Switzerland. We primarily focus on corporate banking for top companies from selected industries, large and medium-sized clients, and support their trade and investment relationships. Additionally, we are also developing our business with medium-sized, family-owned Swiss companies to help them establish their presence in the Chinese market. Our offerings include commercial lending, trade finance, treasury, RMB clearing and settlement, RMB Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (RQFII), and other banking products and service. Our bank has experienced steady growth, and we recognize that our people are a key asset. Currently, we employ about 40 professionals from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.

We are looking for a highly motivated Trade Finance Specialist.

Your main responsibilities

• Handling the daily trade finance business operations
• Analysis and processing of letters of credit, bank guarantees, documentary collections and the underlying commercial documentations
• Manage all steps during the product life cycle
• Ensure compliance with ICC standards and internal regulations
• Pre-check/draft LC wordings as per business request
• Trade-based anti-money-laundry and sanctions checks and on-going monitoring
• Effective internal and external communication for a smooth trade finance business processing
• Provide practical advice/solutions to support the trade finance business development
• Assist in daily operations work for loans, deposits, payments and settlement

Your qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in finance, business administration, economics or a related field
• Minimum five years of experience in a similar role within a financial institution
• Experience and familiar with ICC/UCP 600 and related regulations, CDCS certificate is an advantage
• Experience in back-office operations in banking is an advantage
• Fluency in English, additional language is an advantage
• Ability to work in a small team and within a multicultural working environment
